Ayurvedic Therapies

Ayurveda has a rich tradition filled with a wealth of herbal therapy and bodywork modalities perfect for treating most conditions. It has been my experience in working with Ayurveda over the last seven years that clients respond quickly and thoroughly enjoy the luxurious depth of these powerful treatments. Wherever possible I try to recreate the atmosphere of the authentic Ayurvedic therapies that have evolved in India and Sri Lanka over thousands of years

I operate a sliding scale between £20 and £50 according to individual circumstances dependent on where you are receiving your treatment, whether it be in our space in Brighton, clinic rooms or as a home visit. The prices below each therapy are a guide. I believe no one should be excluded from good complementary health care due to their finances. Please email or phone to discuss prices and timings that suit your needs.

Ayurvedic Therapies #01

Ayurvedic Consultation

The Ayurvedic practitioner considers the patient’s constitution as unique to the individual. Diet and lifestyle, mental, emotional and physical health are discussed in depth. Advice is given about the most appropriate yoga, herbs, nutrition and relaxation techniques. Support is offered for an ongoing programme where the patient can learn to harmonize their body’s energy with their environment. This may realize the potential for superior health, immunity and happiness.

Ayurvedic Therapies #02

Abhyanga - Warm oil massage

Ayurveda considers herbal oils key in aiding the body’s natural return to balanced health. Different herb infused oils, sourced from a traditional Sri Lankan Ayurveda family company are used according to the clients constitution. Then it is time to relax as generous amounts of warm oil are applied during a full body, foot and head massage which is deeply soothing and beneficial for aching joints, lower back and general wellbeing. Abhyanga is the standard Ayurvedic massage.

Ayurvedic Therapies #03

Marma Massage - Energising

Marmas are vital points around the body where Prana may be stimulated and balanced. Depending on body/mind type different oils, amounts of pressure and stroke sequences are tailored to the individual. This results in a deeply calming, grounding and nourishing treatment giving the body and mind a gentle yet powerful boost towards better immunity and happiness. Traditional Gandharva Indian music, Sanskrit mantra and a soothing environment are incorporated to allow you to deeply relax.

Ayurvedic Therapies #04

Basti - Lumbar, Abdominal or Heart

Utilizing the healing powers of herb infused medicinal oils a reservoir of warm oil is kept over the effected area of the lumbar spine, the womb or heart to nourish nerves and reduce vata aggravation. Excellent for sciatic pain, slipped or prolapsed discs, numbness and general lower back pain. Transformation through emotional issues can be helped by use over the heart. Fertility and menstrual conditions are supported by use over the womb.

Ayurvedic Therapies #05

Shirodhara - Warm oil on third eye

A deeply relaxing Ayurvedic therapy which gently releases stress and tension from the mind and nervous system. A steady stream of warm sesame oil flows rhythmically across the forehead. It synchronizes alpha brain waves, enhances blood circulation to the brain and releases deeply trapped toxins. Shirodhara induces feelings of profound peace and happiness. In conjunction with foot massage and followed by Ayurvedic head and face Marma massage, it is one of the best ways to relax. Excellent for reducing the effects of stress, migraine, jet lag, insomnia and general anxiety. Please allow ample time for relaxation and integration after your session.
